This blanket is woven in a plain twill weave but woven “2 as 1” in two colours of green for the ground(one originally from nettles and the other from elder leaves in spring time) and an orange red overcheck (from madder and rowanberries originally.) The original colours have been computer matched and copied to produce and light and colourfast yarn. The “2 as 1” structure of the weave gives an ireegularity in the warp which is rather unusual.

The colours of the background closeup picutre of the weave are much bluer on my monitor than the original.  The best actual match is the rowanberry picture in the centre!  If you would like a swatch please contact me - there is a charge of £10 for a swatch whcih is deductible from the cost of the blanket should you wish to purchase it.
