The Menzies rug

The Menzies is our family tartan: there are three versions of it - red and green, black and white, and red and white. I have already made two previous editions - one in the red and white and one in the black and white.
It is woven in the wonderfully strong soft Wensleydale fleece which comes from my own flock of sheep. The colours originally came from madder and rowanberries (red) and elder in spring and nettles for the two greens.
The rug measures 76"x 92" including a hand knotted fringe at each end. It is machine washable on a cool wool wash - tie the tassels together to prevent tangling. The price including carrier and separate waterproof backing is £300.
